Account & Data Deletion

How to request the deletion of your CounterGuide account or part of your data, in accordance with the GDPR.

How to delete your CounterGuide account

Your CounterGuide account and all of the data stored on our servers can be deleted at any time on request. Because deletion is carried out and confirmed by our support team, please submit a short request by e-mail.

For data protection reasons, the request must be sent from the e-mail address that is registered to your account, or it must state the SteamID64 of the linked Steam account, so that we can verify that you are the account owner.

What gets deleted

Once your request is confirmed, we delete all personal data associated with your account from our servers:
- The Firebase account and your cloud-synchronised settings and favourites.
- Your linked SteamID64 and the stored inventory snapshots (float/wear values, alias history).
- Your Steam verification data (support codes, match share codes) and verification status.
- Your match statistics and cached match-overlay data.
- Your account change log.

Deletion is carried out completely and is not reversible.

What is only stored on your device

Data that is stored locally on your device (app settings, locally cached guide data and media, locally marked favourites) is not transmitted to our server and is not deleted by an account deletion request. To remove this data, clear the app storage or uninstall the app on your device.

Delete only some data (data deletion request)

If you only want to delete part of your data you do not have to delete the whole account:
- You can unlink your Steam profile and remove the stored inventory data at any time in the app under Settings.
- You can remove the Steam verification and the associated match history in the app under Settings.
- If you would like a different combination of data deleted, tell us exactly which data in your e-mail to info@counterguide.de and we will restrict the deletion accordingly.

How long does deletion take

We process every deletion request promptly and in any case within the period required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If anything is unclear or additional verification is needed, we will contact you using the e-mail address you provided. In all cases we will confirm once the deletion has been completed.
